Lavanya Tripati left her hometown of Dehradun at the age of 17 to pursue higher education in Mumbai. Her life subsequently led her to Hyderabad, where she pursued an acting career.
“As a result, I've always been fiercely independent. I've always taken care of myself; in fact, I'm the one who mothered everyone at home. But the epidemic and the isolation that followed changed a lot of things,” she says, adding, “For the first time last year during the lockdown, I felt completely alone.” That was a period when I yearned for my mother's gentle loving care. But, alas, she was in Dehradun, while I was imprisoned in Hyderabad.”
